UX Stories: from Hardware to B2B

  • Date: 22 May
  • Hour: 18:30-20:30

The Romanian Association of User Experience Design, in partnership Bucharest Technology Week, welcome you to an evening full with inspiring talks, where you discover the intricacies of how UX and Product work together. From small apps to b2b monsters, you’ll engage with some real-life stories about what it takes to build successful digital products.

Agenda:

18:30 – Access & Opening

19:00 – The detours and switcharoos in building your product

Alexandru Grigoriu – Lead UX Designer @Grapefruit

A personal story how one side project changed through its growth while interacting with users, stakeholders and competitors. A presentation packed with insights, tough calls, blockers and perspectives.

19:30 – The long road of product discovery in b2b

Calin Fara – Sr. UX Lead, Adobe Romania
Robert Calangiu – Sr. Product Manager, Adobe Romania

A story about a Product team of two – Product Manager and Product Designer – and their convoluted journey towards building a million-dollar enterprise product for a market that doesn’t exist. Certified success or a sounding fail? With a launch date getting closer, they’ll soon find out. Meanwhile they will share both insightful and painful lessons that they’re still learning (the hard way).

20:00 – Bridging the gap between R&D and UX

Razvan TODOR – Director, Product Management, BitDefender

It’s almost a paradox, from a marketeer’s standpoint, how a product with no GUI and everything available just from the command line has a higher adoption rate than a product with similar functionality and a ton of money invested into UX. It’s also a paradox, this time from a core R&D point of view, how a product with seemingly light functionality but great UX sells undeniably better than a much more technically valuable product. As part of the high tech industry, we have a strong tendency to build the most valuable product our minds can conceive and, at the same time, pride ourselves with the fact that we’re not here to win a beauty contest. However, in a world of reviews, stars, opinions and recommendations, what is a bigger disappointment, ugly or stupid?.

20:30 – Drinks, Networking
